Mix Tape volume 1 hits the market
A new album – Mix Tape volume 1 – produced by the Dawg Tagg duo comprising JD Thug (Jadel Prosper) and Icon (Jason Malvina) hit the market earlier this week.
JD Thug told Seychelles Nation it took them two years to work on the album before its release. “It’s a dream come true,” he said.
“We had dreamt of releasing an album since we were at school (Pointe Larue secondary) and we are happy that we have achieved our goal.
“Now we want to make a name for ourselves and be successful in the local music industry,” added the 20-year-old.
Recorded and mixed at Ricky’s Studio, Petit Paris, and the Gangsta Sound Studio, the album comprises 17 tracks like World Is Mine, Ki Arive, Why I Rap, Back Off, Kriminel, Humiliation, Tapaz and We Cannot Be Touched.
Joe Dollar, K. Flexx, Vital, Letroit, Teen Kid, D Major and Megabit feature on the album, labelled parental advisory because of the offensive language used.
JD Thug added that they chose the R&B style because they want to promote it here. On sale in most outlets on Mahe, the album costs R125 but can be bought for R100 from either JD Thug or Icon.
