Fanty Louis – A home release
The musical pursuit of
Fanty Louis, a
Seychellois living in
Vancouver, Canada, has
resulted in a seventh album.
The new release, called
‘Seychelles Anthem’, follows
six previous successes back
in Canada, though being the
first ever to be released in his
home country. The 31 year
old, a former resident of
North East Point, is currently
in Seychelles to visit his
relatives after 24 years away
and also to promote his
music locally.
According to the artiste, the new album is made up of 10 tracks. His brand of music features hip-hop, rap and reggae, with lyrics in both Creole and English.
Most of the songs have an educational bent with messages based on his own experiences. The style, he says, has gone down well with the local public. Since his arrival, Fanty has been busy promoting his songs in popular night clubs such as Tequila Boom, Lovenut and Katiolo.
The artiste’s plans for Seychelles however go much further than just an album. Depending on the success of his current promotion work, he hopes to return in December next year with another new album to stage a major concert here. This time he will be accompanied by an entourage, which will include his girlfriend Breanna Wade, who is herself a talented singer and performs under the stage name ‘Honey the Diva’.
