Jewellery firm’s gift helps children
Local jewellery company Kreolor gave a cheque for R11,575 to the Children’s Homes Foundation during a ceremony yesterday at State House.

The cheque was handed to First Lady Natalie Michel, who is chairperson of the foundation, by the firm’s marketing manager Susan Louys.
Also present was Kreolor’s managing director Claudio Izzi, who said it is the first time they have taken such an initiative.
He said a royalty of R50 was included on the company’s best-known items, such as earrings featuring a coco de mer. And Kreolor agreed to give the sum collected to the foundation after being approached by Mrs Michel.
Mr Izzi added that he wanted to contribute to the foundation as the President’s Village is near where he lives at Port Glaud.
Mrs Michel thanked the company for its generosity and said the money will help the foundation in its mission to improve the lives of less fortunate children.
She said this is a good initiative that can be adopted by other small organisations to raise funds for charitable purposes.
